Exhibition – Andy Thomas – Synthetic Nature – Melbourne

Well, we love stuff that’s different, that’s probably pretty obvious, and we just saw this show at Kick Gallery, full of some fantastically weird and wonderful flora, from artist Andy Thomas .

"Mixed-media artist Andy Thomas presents an extraordinary collection of intricate artworks, inspired by nature.Using a combination of digital technology and water colours, plants and animals are fused together into evolved abstract forms. This innovative exhibition includes animated video installations, which visually represent the voices of nature and create an eerie environment of sound and light."

All of Andys work is created with an amalgamation of photography of plants and other naturalistic objects, and 3D modelling. As lovers of art, tech and the vagaries of surrealistic life forms, this one is well and truly right up our alley.
