Japsers work has always been a curious thing to me, its patterns and shapes and vortexes that sometimes suck you in to other lands and dimensions seem to be exactly reflected by the title of this upcoming show – cerebral reverb. I can just imagine these images as one that emirate out from the mind of this

Selected and curated out all by our man Dean Sunshine (with support from Loop, Crag of the Space Agency, Dulux Australia and Duke Style) this is an awesome new addition to the many gorgeous walls around Preston … check out the photos

Shitload of artist run spaces, and with all kinds of spots for the more underground styles of arts to flourish – but it seems over the last two or three years, that many of these have shut up shop and disappeared. Some still hang in there, doing great things in a not so great market and doing the best for an abundance of artists – but it’s a hard thing to take on. Anyone who launches into such an endeavour these days or who is still doing the amazing work

In 2015, after temporarily relocating studios from Berlin to Sao Paulo, in order to be closer to his family, Yuske found himself confronted by a series of personal tragedies. It’s from within this confrontation that the themes of The Mortal Drama were formed. After staring into the chimeric eyes of existence, life and death, Yuske returned to the canvas, each time, with a visceral and profound message, touched by his experiences. Roa was in town and didn’t disappoint with his show at Backwoods Gallery, featuring Australian wildlife painted on all manner of objects he collected while in Melbourne, all from hard rubbish found around Clifton Hill and surrounding suburbs. Adnate also had an exhibition at the Metro Gallery featuring his amazing works depicting members from the indigenous community, its great to see an artist use their skills
