Our man Dean Sunshine was up in Sydney last week to cehck out Vivid Sydney – specifically, he was taking a bit of time checking out the Shepherd Fairey exhibition, Printed Matters, and mural that he was painting as a part of the event. VR Snapshots – Immersive Media Lounge – State Library of Victoria

A few weeks ago Invurt was involved in creating the Immersive Media Lounge at Melbourne Knowledge Week 2017, hosted at the State Library of Victoria. The event was an awesome success with hundreds of people coming through the doors across the week, and some very cool artwork being created. Exhibition – Inappropriate Appropriation – Versus Gallery – Richmond

After a huge amount of work, sweat and tears, the wraps come off of Versus Gallery – a new exhibitions space attached to Versus studios – our awesome home in Richmond! The first event kicks off this coming Thursday with an amazing show from three international guests. It will be there first proper look that the general public will have at what’s been going on behind the warehouse doors, with an expose of some of the finest appropriation artists practicing in the world today!

“Prepare to get weird, as Australia’s favourite art purveyors Stupid Krap, bring the work of 3 of the most exciting international Pop Artists to Melbourne.

The unique group exhibition entitled ‘Inappropriate Appropriation’, features over 50 pieces from artists Steve Seeley (United States), Jeroen Huijbregts (Netherlands), and Chris Cunningham (Ireland). Curated by Aaron Craig, the exhibition is the very first event for Versus Gallery, and promises to be the beginning of a new era in Melbourne art.

Directed by Australian artists Ben Frost + GT Sewell, the space brings together the works of local and international artists, in both traditional and new media, with an engaging schedule of curated exhibitions and events.

Versus Gallery boasts over 50 square meters of floor space, professional lighting, huge wall heights, off street parking/reception area and close proximity to public transport. The gallery is part of a larger space: Versus Studios, which has 14 artists studios working across various mediums, including painting, fashion, projection, street art and sculpture.”

We moved in to Versus gallery about six months ago, and from an an empty shell of a warehouse to an amazing space filled with talented people,the transformation has been incredible. We couldnt be happier to call it home, and we hope you all make it down to see all the work that has gone into this brilliant space !

This is just the first show of many, and so so many great things to come – we’ll see you on Thursday night!
