Well, after having spent a few days out in the country at Woodend painting and generally having an absolute blast, I have to say that I can’t wait for this event this weekend!
A huge amount of sweat and toil has gone into this remarkable event. Artists from all over have been making the trip up to an old sawmill in rural Woodend the past week, to leave their presence in the form of some remarkable work – and yep, it’s all for sale! Read on for all the details…
“‘Art of the Mill’ is the inaugural group exhibition presented by No Fixed Address Gallery and exclusive to the Macedon Ranges Sustainable Living Festival 2016. NFA Gallery will be bringing a large selection of street art and graffiti to the festival with artists including Adnate, Makatron, Unwell Bunny, Kid Silk, Phibs, Facter, Ohnoes, the Arts Hole studio crew, local artist GT Sewell, ERG crew, Stopem, and many more!
Ariana Leane (of NFA Gallery) has developed this event with the generous assistance of Alex McCulloch (of Alex McCulloch Art Consultancy) and Ken McGregor (of the Australian Street Art Festival). McCulloch and McGregor have had a longstanding applied interest in envisaging this as an ideal site for the first major regional gallery in the Macedon Ranges.
Artworks will be auctioned off at the event on Saturday 27th Feb, with 20% off all sales being donated to the Macedon Ranges Wildlife Network, which encompasses the shelter’s in the local area who care for injured bush wildlife.”
So on Saturday 27th from 10am to 6pm there will be live painting, djs & bands on at the Mill! Plus an amazing amount of artwork, check #artofthemill on instagram for some previews. It’s not far from the CBD, Woodend is about 45mins drive out and it’s a rad part of Victoria, perfect for a day trip!
Seriously get down and check out all the work from some of Australia’s finest, and we’ll see you there!
