Exhibition – Chris Drummond – Play The Angles – Melbourne

Chris Drummond, man behind Dangerfork, member of the infamous ID crew and a Safehouse studios resident will be putting on an awesome solo show this Thursday night at the new Litre Space gallery in Melbourne.

“Litre Space and Dangerfork are excited to present Chris Drummond’s first solo exhibition ‘Play the Angles’.

This exhibition is a collection of screen printed works playing with the traditional graffiti ideology of ‘style’ being created through the right combination of lines, angles and color’s.
Chris’s aesthetic has been developed by years spent painting traditional graffiti with Melbourne’s notorious ID crew, then adding an art school twist to create colorful abstractions that hint at a wide variety of traditional and contemporary influences.

In 2010 Chris started the fine art screen-printing & art production company Dangerfork, which has led to a fascination with the screen printed medium as well as experience organizing many successful exhibitions and events.

His new works for ‘Play The Angles’ explore the use of materials and techniques to create unique artworks combining fine art, craft & mass production processes.

‘Play the Angles’ is taking place at one of Melbourne’s newest artist run galleries; Litre Space, owned and operated by local Artist & jewelry designer Hamish Munro.

“Tucked behind Munro’s studio in an alley off Queen Street, Litre Gallery is probably the tiniest in the CBD. This suits Munro just fine. He wants Litre to be a small-scale project space that features the work of his creative friends and other local artists.” Quote – Broadsheet 28.9.2012

Litre Space creates an intimate experience whilst viewing the artwork, combined with a large outside wall & courtyard where Chris will be painting a mural over the duration of the opening night.”

We are, obviously, huge fans of Chris’s work – the abstrationed formed particularly excite our aesthetics. Not to mention that the man has done some amazing work in the past, both in the streets, printwise and amongst the galleries, well, this is sure to be really great display of work.

We can’t recommend this one highly enough!
