Competition – Help Slicer & AWOL Paint Prahran – Everywhere

Adnate sent us this news of a competition that the crew from AWOL are really keen on, and, being a resident of Prahran and a lover of anything that AWOL touches, we thought we’d also throw it out to you guys to help support them in their endeavours. Having the crew paint a six story tall building in one of the busiest areas of Melbourne would be an awesome project for a great bunch of artists, and a major coup for Melbourne and Australian street art.

"We are part of an arts competition based on a public voting system… The winner gets to produce a 6 story mural on the side of a new apartment block in Prahran and we are campaigning to get my collective, AWOL, to win!" – Adnate.

Do we need to really say it? A six story spray painted work of art in the centre of Prahran would be amazing – and, apologies to the other entrants, their works are great (These artists include Cat MacInnes, Letitia Buchan, Maurice Gollota (MSG), and you can check out all the entries here, they really are pretty cool)! Even given our usual un-biased reporting, we hope you forgive our one exception here and throw our support to Slicer on this one, we’ve seen how hard he and the rest of the AWOL crew work and would love to see them get this chance to push themselves.

You don’t even really have to do anything, we’ve set it up for you -
