Exhibition – When It Rains It Pours – WA

Usually when we put up the WA tagline in the title, it means that the exhibition is more than likely in the state or territories capital city – but When It Rains It Pours couldn’t be further afield than the street of P-town.

Last Chance Studios will be showcasing their collective work at what looks to be a great little regional group show all the way to the north in Port Headland (funnily enough as well, there’s also a Last Chance tavern in South Hedland – coincidence?) – and nothing could be cooler. Regional Australia often misses out on the wealth of amazing work going on in metro Australia, and with over 70% of all Australians living in those capital cities, it doesn’t often give regional and coastal areas a lot of opportunity, beyond using the web, to really see what’s cooking in the larger metropolises. Admittedly, most of these regional areas often do have crews and artists working in them, but in terms of cohesion and density this is relatively low.

Other crews and collectives have done the regional thing in the past, and we’re keen to see more happening in the future – and here’s hoping that the next foray for the LC collective is only the beginning of a larger effort to take the amazing work produced in the cities to those areas.

If you’re up there April 16th and June on FIFO, living, fishing, passing through or just on walkabout and soaking in some Pilbara sun, get in and see it – hell, jump on a plane if necessary – it’d be worth it!
